8) 18plus Rebellion -

The list has been striped of its national status and support (for what it was worth).

More importantly National Officers have been censored from using the list. The motion voted on by just four NEC members was worded completely differently from how the NEC was ORDERED to interpret it.

A motion saying "National status is removed from the 18plus list" is entirely different from something actually stating - for example - "National Officers are proscribed from using the 18plus list". The latter also being an infringement on peoples right to free speech.

Members who object to this and support 18plus should contact or write to their Area Chairman or the National Chairman.

To find out more and/or protest this decision post a message to your Area Chairman, Caretaker National Chairman, or Vice President via the Head Office: 8-10 Church Street Chambers, Church Street, Newent, Glous. GL18-1PP.

*Latest Details Curtasy of Karen Grey -

Live music will be provided by Star, an 8 piece band who are able to play music from all eras covered by our past and present members. The trumpet and saxophone really enhances the music and helps create a big band sound. The singers are excellent and the band makes all styles of music sound great.

See their website at -

http://www.cbsgroup.co.uk/star992.htm

A number of activities are planned for during the daytime and a grand dinner dance for the Saturday night with entertainment to suit all ages. Mark Hawkins from Barnet Group will be providing thedisco (hopefully) and as mentioned we've got a few bands in mind that will be able to play material from the past 60 years.

As an added incentive to come along we will be running a competition during the Saturday daytime called 'Who Dares Wins'. Teams of four will be invited to undertake a series of challenges without spending any money and provide photographic evidence for the judges.

Challenges could be as crazy as 'make a jelly' or 'wear a policemans hat' and teams would be able to travel anywhere around Nottingham to complete the tasks. The competition will be open to anyone attending the event, even families.

Accommodation will not be included in the cost of attending any part of the event.

The hotel is already accepting bookings for the event. Prices are ?per person for twin or double occupancy and ?for single occupancy. In addition they have superior rooms available for a supplement of ? All prices are per night and include a full English breakfast. Please mention the event when booking to sure of the above rates.

*The organisers requires help to make the event a success:

They are looking for are memorabilia items, volunteers to deliver slide or video shows or host a debate/talk and people who can help make the dinner dance a bit more special.

Also if you think your company might consider donating a small amount of money in return for an opportunity to advertise at the event then please let Karen Grey have a contact name and address of the relevant person.
